Nivedita Basu Resigns as Senior Vice President (Content) of Atrangii, Ullu, and Hari Om App
The show must go on! It is often said that neither success nor failure defines your future, but the passion for soaring, learning, and experimenting does. For Nivedita Basu, that mindset has driven her illustrious career.
With numerous hit shows to her name, Basu has been a powerhouse in the television industry. After years of association with Ektaa Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms, she took on the role of Senior Vice President – Content at Vibhu Agrawal’s Atrangii. However, after serving for almost three years, she has put in her papers and is now on a two-month notice period, officially stepping down from her position.
When asked about her decision to leave Atrangii, Nivedita explained, “This decision wasn’t made overnight. After much thought, I felt it was time to move forward. While Mr. Vibhu gave me full creative freedom, but I wanted to explore new opportunities and move forward with different plans. Now, I believe it’s the right time to pursue new opportunities.”
Reflecting on her time at Atrangii, she shared, “Television is not easy to sustain. Private and free-to-air channels have been doing well for years, making it challenging for new channels to break through. To survive, you must offer something substantial, and results don’t come quickly for someone transitioning from the web to television. That’s why we shifted our focus to running the Atrangii app after launching the channel.”
